Seasoned supply chain executive with over 16 years of experience at CMPC, Romina Diaz has held leadership roles across Chile, Brazil, and the United States. Currently, she is leading supply chain operations for the European market, with a strong track record of transforming supply chain organizations into strategic drivers of business growth, resilience, and long-term value creation. Ms. Diaz positions supply chain at the core of business strategy, leveraging it as a competitive advantage to enable growth, enhance customer experience, and mitigate risk in an increasingly complex and volatile environment. Her leadership focuses on building agile, data-driven, and collaborative networks across the region that can respond dynamically to market demands and disruptions.
Ms. Diaz has three key priorities: strengthening end-to-end resilience to ensure continuity and adaptability; elevating service excellence to deliver differentiated customer value; and embedding sustainability as a fundamental lever for efficiency, innovation, and long-term competitiveness within the European context. Through strong cross-functional alignment and strategic partnerships, Ms. Diaz drives high-performing supply chain ecosystems that consistently deliver superior results and support sustainable business growth across Europe.

Alexander Hellmers is a German logistics executive with extensive experience in international supply chain management, warehousing, and global logistics solutions for the pulp, paper, and forest products industry. As Managing Director and Shareholder of Alexander Global Logistics (AGL), he is responsible for international customer development, growth initiatives, and managing complex commercial relationships across global markets. His experience includes the strategic coordination of international supply chains with customers and partners across Europe, North and South America, Asia, and the Middle East.
Over the past years, Mr. Hellmers has been closely involved in developing integrated logistics and supply chain solutions for international pulp and paper producers, traders, and industrial customers. Under his leadership, AGL has further strengthened its position as a specialized logistics partner for the forest products sector, with a particular focus on port logistics, warehousing, cargo handling, and multimodal transportation solutions through the Port of Bremerhaven, Germany. His leadership approach combines operational understanding with a strong international business perspective and a focus on long-term value creation.
One of the key milestones in his career has been the development of the international pulp and paper hub in Abu Dhabi in strategic cooperation with AD Ports Group. Since 2019, Mr. Hellmers has been actively involved in planning and implementation of the hub, which was established at Khalifa Port to serve as a major distribution and transshipment platform for pulp and paper products across the Middle East and surrounding growth markets.
Mr. Hellmers holds a Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management from Cass Business School in London and a bachelor’s degree in international business & management studies from Hanze University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.

Sami Alsafran is a renowned executive and industry leader with over 30 years of experience in the paper, recycling, and waste management sectors. As former Group President of the Middle East Paper Company (MEPCO), he was instrumental in advancing sustainable waste management practices, circular economy initiatives, and large-scale recycling operations across the region. Moreover, he built high-performing teams and instilled a robust working culture at MEPCO.
Mr. Alsafran's expertise spans process engineering, chemical engineering, and manufacturing, with a strong focus on integrating waste-to-energy solutions and optimizing recycling systems. Through his leadership, Mr. Alsafran has championed many innovations, sustainability practices, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. He has served as Chairman of the Board at the Arab Federation for Paper, Printing & Packaging Industries (AFPPPI), Board Advisor at MEPCO, and Technical Manager at Arab Paper Manufacturing Co. (WARAQ).
His leadership in waste management and sustainability has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award (2023), the CEO Award of the Year (2024), the Best CEO Award (2022), and the Personality Award of the Year (2019).
Mr. Alsafran holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.
